The Right Process
Services related to Right Process ensures incorporation of your own best practices with industry methodologies and frameworks cutting across all disciplines in a manner that supports both IT objectives and broader business goals. Whether your goal is to rollout an enterprise Application Delivery Framework, incorporate Agile methodology under a IT Governance environment or design an ITIL-based Service delivery processes, our consultants will help you define the Right Process that will support process tailoring, compliance, automation and provide all the required reporting. This does not mean we do it all – we leverage your existing resources or bring Subject Matter Experts where required. We work closely with your process, tools, compliance and standards teams to better understand the needs and leverage your existing process and tool assets.
The Right Deployment
Processes are not effective until they are deployed effectively and efficiently. The Right Deployment services take into account the people and automation side of the equation so that processes are ‘institutionalized’ quickly and effectively – after all what good is a process binder sitting in the corner shelf? Automating repeatable IT processes require careful understanding of your existing IT tools and related infrastructure. Process must be documented in formats and standards that support effective process deployment - standards, metamodels, process templates, etc. Organizations have already invested in ‘point’ tools that are focused on a particular discipline – Project management, Requirements Management, Configuration Management or Release Management – or considering an enterprise process automation platform. Whether the goal is to consolidate/integrate existing tools or buy additional tools, our services will help you get maximum value from your investments in tools and processes.
How we do it ? Service Delivery Approach
In order to deliver Right Process and Right Deployment, we have created a unique service delivery methodology developed from numbers of years of experience in developing and automating IT processes. We typically start our engagement by undertaking an initial process assessment with the goal of reviewing current process landscape, tools, technology and organizational structure supporting IT processes. This helps us in understanding your needs, identifying areas of improvement and creating a baseline for initial process improvements. This is a very collaborative approach where we identify and meet key stakeholders; conduct structured interviews to obtain the relevant information. In some cases, we will work with leading appraisers/auditors to identify gaps. Similary, we collaborate with your tools vendors to better understand tool capabilities and limitations so that effective automation can be put in place..
We analyze the collected data which includes existing process documentations, project plans, IT service reports, etc. This information helps us in performing gap analysis to see the ‘gaps’ between existing processes and the desired goals. Sometimes, we propose additional interviews, process or workflow observations and request access to data from certain tools. We then prioritize and discuss these gaps with relevant stakeholders in your IT and management teams. This collaborative approach helps us identify the right process improvement or deployment areas. We then create a process implementation roadmap that clearly shows where the processes are today (‘as-is’), where they should be (‘to-be’) and how to get there (action items). The roadmap is then used to create a detail implementation plan with assistance from process experts, appraisers, tool vendors and industry best practices.
For smaller engagements, we may create the implementation plans after a short scoping exercise. This plan, which includes timelines, resource commitments, costs, organizational impacts and risks, is presented to the stakeholders and decision makers. The plan typically consist of one of more actions items where issues or gaps are identified along with recommendation and detail action plan. The action items may consist of new processes, team or skill compositions, recommendations for re-training/tooling as well as plans to undertake small integration projects to support process automation.
